Well I never owned a Sega Dreamcast, but my neighbor did. I remember going to his house and playing the hot new football game, NFL 2K! We also used to play Soul Calibur and Tony Hawk Proskater. I never really was fond of the controller, but that was just because I was so used to my Playstation.
So what memories do you have of Dreamcast?

well.... when I got my Dreamcast, It was after the system was dead. SO.... I ended up looking around for half-life for it as I heard that there was a half-life made. Didn't find it though I basically bought the system for Virtua tennis (pretty darn good game) and for some of the shooters. The system is ok... and I have to admit, I would have rather seen this system pull out ahead instead of the PS †B†V†

I called in sick the day that Dreamcast was released...9/9/99. I went to walmart the night before and stood in line to wait for the midnight release. I bought the Dreamcast, took it home and played all day/night. I cannot remember exactly what games I bought..but I think I bought all the launch titles.
I have tons of memories of the DC..and still play mine tons. Its one of my top 3 fav systems easily. It had great shooters, tons of Capcom and SNK fighters and shooters, totally original and groundbreaking games like Shenmue, Rez, Floigan Brothers, Seaman..ect.
I cannot really say anything negative about the system, I actually like the controllers, and the VMU was a genious concept that I wish would get used on next gen systems.

One of my favorite moments was when I played as afro thunder in the game ready to rumble. I was just amazed at the graphics back when it first came out.

My favorite Dreamcast moments were mostly spent on the few online games I had. Mainly on Phantasy Star Online, which was my first experience playing a kind of RPG online. It was so fun to talk to people while killing monsters and finding "cool new equipment..." I put so many hours into that game.

I remember playing Virtua Tennis and NBA2k. Those games were insane. I was always the swedish guy in Virtua Tennis. I never played Echo The Dolphin but i heard that it was fun. Anyone ever play that game?

the Sonic Adventure games, raising my chao chaos on the VMU. Also, beating the second hardest boss in Silver (forgot his name) and using duel wielding to carry around the two swords he left me.

Should have been renamed "Vampire Munching Units" because they suck the life out of CR2032 lithium watch batteries....within a week or less...

Thats why I never took them out of the unit. I always just kept it plugged in the controller. They still have the original batteries since launch day.

I honestly wish that Sega had the cajones to keep going and eventually lay the smackdown on Sony. But I guess we'll put that in the "what if" file.
The DC was also the best deal I ever found for a console. $20!!

It came out too close to the PS2 and Xbox, everyone was saving up for them so DC was more of a "hey look at that" and not a "OMG I WANT THAT" it was ok though.
